When the iconic Country Club Plaza in Kansas City reached its 100th anniversary, we collaborated with the Plaza’s marketing team to design a gift suite as timeless as the well-loved landmark itself. The goal: create a custom event invite gift suite that ties together the Plaza’s rich architectural details and fresh, modern branding for a memorable centennial celebration.

The only logical place to start with the gift design was the classic mosaic tilework that defines the Plaza, with intricate patterns reflected in everything from the custom wooden box branding to the elegant wax seal details. We thoughtfully wove the Plaza’s new visual identity throughout the custom gifting experience, with art prints, gift inserts, and bold, blue color palettes that feel both historic and fresh.

Opening the gift, recipients found themselves immersed in the Plaza’s story. The locally crafted watercolor art prints offered a piece of Kansas City history to take home, while the newly debuted branding and color scheme felt at home on stationery, blue-tipped matches, and a custom Pickwick candle. Each gift also included a bag of Messenger Coffee: KC Current blend, a pair of rocks glasses with the Charlie Hustle KC Heart in blue, and Sandlot Goods handcrafted leather keychains and drink sweaters. Local details like this were chosen to evoke the craftsmanship and community spirit that have made the Plaza a destination for generations.
